Cask Ale Week 2019 & CAMRA Ale Trails

Cask Ale Week is a Cask Marque initiative to promote interest in cask (ie. ‘real’) ales. The Case Is Altered is an accredited Cask Marque pub which means its beer has been independently assessed for quality.

This year Cask Ale Week runs from the 19th to the 29th of September. Yes, we agree, the Cask Marque concept of a week does seem somewhat elastic. But nevertheless, it’s an opportunity for pubs up and down the country to highlight their real ale credentials and commitment to delivering quality beer. Now at the Case, we’d like to think that every week is a Cask Ale Week as we pride ourselves on making four quality cask ales, delivered by hand pump from our temperature controlled cellar, available at all times. These comprise our standard bitter, Adnams Southwold, and three regularly changing guest ales sourced from a rotating list of local East Anglian breweries, one of which is always a dark beer (typically a stout, porter or mild). You can check what’s currently on offer, by looking at our Current Ales page. In fact over the last year we have offered 76 different beers from 24 different breweries via our hand pumps.

Associated with the 2019 Cask Ale Week are a series of 5 Ale Trails organised by the Ipswich and East Suffolk branch of CAMRA. The Case is part of trail 3, the ‘Around Ipswich’ Ale Trail, along with 6 other pubs, see Google Maps for their location. Pick up a ‘passport’ from any of the participating pubs to find out more. Get your passport stamped in participating pubs to win prizes. Please note that the completion date for each Ale Trail is 6th October 2019.
