6:00 pm: Re-Opening Weekend
6:00 pm to9:00 pm
On Saturday 6th April, the Case will be hosting a charity coffee morning from 10.00 to 12.00 in aid of The Mozambique Hospital at Beira devastated by the recent Cyclone Idai.
Tea, coffee, home-made cakes and scones will be available.
This is the only hospital serving a population of 6 million people. Please come along as every little will help, and this coffee morning will make a great local contribution.
Further information: Mozambique is a commonwealth country and a team from Ipswich hospital was involved in founding the Clinical Medical School at Beira. This event is specifically intended to raise funds to help restore the clinical capacity at the hospital. So far more than 1,000 people are thought to be dead in Mozambique alone. More than 350,000 are still at risk. Cases of cholera have been confirmed.
The following video (from the DEC – Disasters Emergency Committee) gives more information about the impact of Cyclone Idai:
UPDATE 6/4/19: The coffee morning took place today and has (at the time of writing) raised £1425 for charity. Many thanks to all who contributed.
