12:00 pm: Spring Bank Holiday
12:00 pm to3:00 pm
On Thursday 6th June the whole country will be commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. D-Day was a huge turning point in World War II and marked the beginning of Operation Overlord. After this the Allied forces were able to send troops back to Europe and could start to free countries such as France and Belgium. The Case will be commemorating this special occasion with the rest of the country by lighting a Lamp Light of Peace at 9:15pm. This event will coincide with the lighting of beacons throughout the United Kingdom. Do join us in marking this historic occasion.
The Lamp Light Of Peace is a traditional Oil Lantern. Its Ruby Red colouring is intended to represent the ultimate sacrifice made by brave men and women across the globe. The light from the flame will represent the ‘light of peace’ that emerged from the darkness of war.
