If you have questions we haven’t answered – please let us know!
Do you do food ?
We have not been able to offer food on a regular basis since Covid. However, we do offer a range of bar snacks i.e. crisps, peanuts and savoury biscuits and, starting in 2023, we now have a programme of visiting street food vendors, ranging from Pizza takeaway to authentic Thai food. All are local providers and have 5 star Babergh hygiene certification ratings. Please refer to our News page and Event Calendars for further information about upcoming food events.
What hours do you keep ?
See our Opening Hours page – essentially Wednesday to Sunday.
How accessible is the pub for a wheelchair user ?
The pub is all on one level as we’ve removed (what once was) an awkward step in the bar floor. The path from the pub car park (between the pub and the shop) has been paved, and offers good access from the car park to the pub. One of our front doors is extra wide, and has flat access for wheel chairs. There is a modern fully accessible lavatory, with easy level access to the bar and garden room.
Is there a carpark ?
Yes, a large carpark is located to the rear of the pub building.
What facilities do you offer for children ?
Families with children are very welcome. The pub has a large garden enclosed by a fence, making it a safe place for children to run around. The village play area has swings and climbing frames for children and is located next to the pub with a gate connecting directly from the pub garden to the play area.
Are dogs welcome ?
Dogs on leads and under close control are welcome. We have a dog drinking bowl outside the front door.
What about locking my bicycle ?
You are welcome to lock your bicycle to the pub front fence – its strong and visible from many places inside. There are three “Sheffield” bicycle stands in front of the shop, in the pub car park.
Can you cater for large parties?
Yes – we regularly host, for example, walking groups. We are happy for you to bring your own packed lunches or contact us to see if we can arrange food on a one-off basis.
Do you cater for wakes, weddings, etc?
Yes. We are very happy to host such occasions outside pub hours (Mondays and Tuesdays except bank holidays) when the whole pub is available, and we can also block book part of the pub at other times, or possibly offer a marquee in the summer. See our Private Functions Policy document (pdf) for details.
