5:00 pm: Fireworks' Night
We will be open from 5pm on Saturday 5 November to help you celebrate Bentley’s own Guy Fawkes Night. Bonfire and fireworks will take place on the village playing field.
UPDATE 17/3/20: Due to the health issues currently prevailing, this event will be postponed until further notice.
On 17th April, the Case will be celebrating our 6th anniversary of re-opening as a community run pub and officially taking on support for a new charity for the next twelve months. This will be the Ipswich and East Suffolk Samaritans. The next day, Saturday 18th April, sees the launch event for this initiative when we will be holding a huge all day second hand book sale.
Throughout the day, local adult and children’s authors will be giving readings and talks about their works. There will also be the opportunity to purchase signed books. Toddlers and younger children are especially welcome during the morning session and can bring along their own favourite story book.
The day starts at 10:00 am and goes through to 6pm. Refreshments will be available all day. A raffle will also be held. All proceeds from these will be donated to the charity.
The first reading of the day will be for pre-schoolers and their parents. This will be a theatrical rendition of A Fish Out of Water (Beginner Books) written by Helen Marion Palmer and illustrated by P.D. Eastman. Copies of the book will be available to purchase on the day. Later in the day, local authors will be giving their own readings. Check back here nearer the event for a schedule of all readings.
