Capel Road Closure 6th Jan 2020

For information, Capel Road is due to be closed between the Bergholt Road turning and the A12 for this week so you will not be able to reach the pub directly from the A12 for the time being. Access from the A137 is fine.

An alternative route from the A12 is to take the back road through Bentley (ie. via Bentley Hall Road, adjacent to Capel Station Garage, accessed from the A12 slip road between junction 32B and 32A, then turn right at Church Road) and emerge next to the war memorial in the centre of Bentley vollage and turn right to reach the pub.

The pub will be open as normal during this period with the kitchen open again after the Christmas break so we’ll be serving lunchtime meals on weekdays again from Wednesday and Sunday roasts from the 12th.

UPDATE Friday 10th Jan 2020: The road to the A12 is now fully open again.

UPDATE Saturday 11th Jan 2020: We understand that the road to the A137 will be closed all day Sunday 12th January at the Bentley level crossing. Work will start late Saturday night and continue until early Monday morning to re-lay the crossing. Station Road will be closed to road vehicles for this period.
