12:00 pm: Summer Bank Holiday
12:00 pm to3:00 pm
Andrew Budd, one of our dedicated volunteers throughout the pandemic, will be cycling 250 miles with his wife Mary-Jane, in aid of the St Elizabeth Hospice. The route starts in Ipswich on 28 August for 3 days and takes in Cambridge and Great Yarmouth and then back to Ipswich. If you would like to support him please see the posters around the pub or access his JustGiving fund raising page directly. Every penny raised goes directly to the hospice.
This is not the first time Andrew and Mary-Jane have been involved in fund raising for the hospice: In 2015 they cycled 360 miles from London to Paris along with 50 other people from the Ipswich area, many with personal experience of loved ones that the hospice had helped. In 2016 they cycled 400 miles from London to Amsterdam (via France not the Harwich – Hook ferry). As well as donations from people for the cycling they have also raised funds from a jumble sale at Capel village hall, running the London marathon and holding music festivals in their garden with some local musicians. Over the years they have raised over £10,000 for the hospice, a drop in the ocean for what the hospice needs to operate but every £ helps. So the Case would like to wish them every success with this latest venture.
UPDATE 12/9/21: Congratulations to Andrew and Mary-Jane who managed to raise a total of £3,267 for the St Elizabeth Hospice from their bike ride – a fantastic achievement! Andrew would like to thank all the Case volunteers, shareholders, customers and quizzers who donated.
