Those lovely people at the East Anglian Daily Times have been supporting us again – this article in the on-line edition yesterday:
The amount has gone up a bit since yesterday, but we really need more people to chip in!
It would be so sad if we lost both the pub, AND the chance to put a shop back in to the village, for the want of some cash. The average house price in Bentley must be WELL above £200,000; with the statistic that a functioning pub in the village is worth an extra 10% on house prices, that should be an incentive that works for everyone!
Plus, don’t forget, if you’re a tax payer, Her Majesty’s Government will give you 30% of your investment back!
I know when I moved into the village, a big incentive was the attractive pub, and the little shop. Today, I might just drive on through – let’s bring our village back from the brink, and all gain in the process!
