Bentley Community Pub Ltd is delighted to announce that we have agreed to purchase the freehold of the Case is Altered from Punch Taverns, subject to contract and subject to approval from the Punch board.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all our investors from Bentley and beyond, as well as our many supporters who have provided practical assistance. Without you, none of this would have been possible.
Our next steps are to complete the sale as soon as possible, and to finalise our detailed plans for repairs and refurbishment.
Whilst we have just reached our minimum fundraising target of £230,000, we still need to raise the money to cover the costs of repairs and refurbishment and we now need to actively seek further investments to help fund our plans. We welcome share subscriptions from new investors or those wishing to increase their existing stake. The sooner we can raise this money the sooner we will be able to get The Case open!
New investors can buy shares by completing the application form in our Share Offer Document (available to download from our website www.thecasepubbentley.co.uk) and returning it with a cheque to the address on the form. If you are an existing investor wishing to buy additional shares, simply contact our Treasurer, Peter Cross, who will make the necessary arrangements.
We are instructing Microgenius to debit the accounts of those who have invested via their website. Investors will be notified three days before their accounts are debited.
The reopening date for The Case will be dependent on a number of factors, including the sale completion and refurbishment, however at this stage we are hopeful of being open for business by the summer.
We will keep you informed of our progress and developments, including volunteering opportunities to get involved with the refurbishment and reopening. We would also be pleased to hear from local trades people and businesses who can offer to help or who would be interested in tendering for specific work. Please contact Stewart Rowe (link.house@btinternet.com) to register your interest.
In the meantime we plan to hold an Open Day at The Case as soon as the sale has completed – so look out for the details of that in a few weeks time.
Please do not hesitate to email us at savethecase.bentley@gmail.com or telephone David Westley (01473 310964), Liz Whitman (01473 311473) or Peter Cross (01473 310410) if you have any questions or wish to become involved in the project.
